South West Itinerary
L.A.S. Vino Cellar door is now open. We have written a simple wine & food focused itinerary for a weekend in the south west, written by someone who lives here. The Love of Creation
The price may initially seem high, but when you look at how much work has gone into it, the price is minimal. We handpick from the best sites in the early hours of the morning, chill the fruit, and hand sort over a sorting table, only letting the utmost top-quality berries through to the press. We gently (very gently) inflate an airbag press to delicately squeeze the juice out and then ferment naturally in oak, with an individual winemaker monitoring the progress three times


One Percent %
A professor once informed me that hand picking didn’t alter the taste of wines, maybe only slightly. A winemaker in Napa told me that hand sorting the fruit really didn’t make a difference either, only slightly. A friend let me know that there wasn’t really a difference between hand plunging and using a big machine maybe hand plunging was slightly better but not statistically. When we make wine at L.A.S.
